Our Summer Solstice ~ Litha's Loom
This morning was a beautiful Litha morning. It's around 5:15 am and my daughter and I are up early having our morning coffee and scones, watching the sunrise over Chamber's Bay; as we plan out our busy day and visit with our morning visitors.
We have many deer that pass through every morning, but we have one that loves to linger. We named him Dagger.
We also have our bunnies that come by every morning and even the late afternoon to nibble in our garden. Our littlest one we call Mandrake.
There's Isis. She's the kind of girl that demands your attention. She is a beautiful Bluejay. She came flying in, crashing through the trees like a bat out of hell. It reminds us of Ice in the movie Top Gun and her beautiful coloring reminds us of Egyptian blue so we named her Isis.
Then there is our little lost pigeon who was left behind. We gave her the name Angelica.
Last but not least is our little brat, Binx.
So now that you have met our whole family, we best get busy!
So for part of our Litha I had shared in an earlier blog post with you about our Loom that was created between the trees in our back garden. Well, this morning, we are going to weave it together for the first time and we are sharing the different stages of the weaving with you. Everyone participated in the weaving of Litha's Loom. Everyone took turns weaving in a section and at the end of our weaving, everyone added one finishing touch. Doing it this way, brings everyone's energy and light into our Litha Loom.
Then with all the left over foraging, we used it up by creating mini looms that could be taken home as a memento of this year's Summer Solstice.
